An introduction.....
For some strange reason back at the start of the year I decided to attempt to write a novel for the third time.
Why on this particular day I decided to put myself through this I have no idea. It must have seemed a good idea at the time.
My two previous attempts had both ended in glorious failure. The first a high fantasy novel was appalling. The world didn't work, the main character was dull and deserved to die, so that what happened. I killed the book and got on with my life.
Ten years later I planned a children s book that blended SF, cute characters with an adventure set on planet Earth. Everything seemed so good for a while, then kids and life got in the way and it all petered out.
Ten years later attempt three has just passed 66000 words, and I and now facing the final third grand finale.
I am 99.999% certain this book will be finished.
Most of my friends and family are convinced that I live in a fantasy world, and only touch reality occasionally. Well allowing for work and boring things like that.
For this reason my latest attempt at writing is a fantasy tale that blends the everyday world with the magical and faerie world of myth. This way I get to combine fast cars and guns with goblins, elves and magic.
So why the blog. Firstly I like writing and I thought it would be good to share my ideas and thoughts with the world.
The working title is "The Book of Spells". Please add any comments and thoughts. This will be welcome.
